I was a sickly child...no really, I was. I stayed inside a lot, because the outdoors made me sneeze, and cough, and before I knew it, I would be in the hospital with pneumonia. But, it was good training. I found I loved to draw and make things more than anything else. As a child of the 80’s, TV was my biggest inspiration. I drew and painted along with my favorite teachers on PBS, and doodled my favorite cartoon characters and movie stars.
Fast forward to adulthood...yes I survived. Determined to become an “artist,” I graduated Harding University with a Bachelor or Science in Art in 1996. I was already working as a picture framer during college, so I continued this while I started picking up freelance work for books, logos, advertising, and portraiture.
In 2014 Arkansas Ducks Unlimited approached me about become a sponsor artist for their conservation fund raising efforts. I excepted and became the most ironic “Duck Artist” in history, having never been duck hunting. They must have liked what I did, because I’ve done 11 sponsor prints as of 2025. Additionally, I had the honor of painting the 2024 Arkansas Duck Stamp!
I still take numerous art commissions during the year, as well as sell prints of my more popular works. Thanks to everyone who has supported my life long art addiction!
